Intelligent Office (Intelliflo)
Value for money
Based on 9 reviews
Intelligent Office is an award-winning web-based business management system for financial advisers, mortgage advisers, network providers, service providers and for those in the enterprise sector. Based on open architecture, it’s the most comprehensive and flexible business management system in the UK financial services market.
We know that the financial advice sector is changing, so we built Intelligent Office to streamline the entire advice process, giving you more time to concentrate on growing your business. Our open architecture philosophy enables you to build your business management software, your way, by enabling you to integrate the tools you need.
A popular back office choice, used by nearly half of the advisers we surveyed. Its 2018 purchase by Invesco was well received by the market and heralds more product investment in future. In a field where lack of integration is a major hold-up, Intelliflo receives praise for its iO Store with downloadable integrations and for its commitment to open architecture. However advisers tell us the sales pitch is better than the actual implementation and the software requires more set up and customisation than many had initially believed in order to be fully effective. Intelliflo seem to be working to address concerns. Recent acquisitions of i4C (cash flow modelling) and an API link to FundsNetwork may address some adviser frustrations about re-keying and a lack of integration.

Comprehensive tool with extensive functionality, a significant amount of which we haven't fully adopted. Strong in terms of the basics: capturing client and plan info; task management; document management all pretty good, while integrations with other applications for valuations in particular is decent and improving. However UI is quite old-fashioned and clunky, with a finish that looks like something still in development in places, and more peripheral capabilities need improvement: Reporting engine powerful but not very user-friendly; Workflow clunky and non-intuitive and the Diary basically unusable. Also a bit surprised that there has been no major enhancement in terms of... read more look and feel in 2 years. Support is mixed but it's undoubtedly easier to get through to the Helpdesk now than it was a year ago. The Community can feel like a bit of a black hole at times. Overall: Good, but plenty of scope for improvement.
I started a new business from scratch using iO. Two years in and there is still a mass of functionality that I haven't even scratched the surface of yet. It takes a good while to get your head around the process that iO uses to move clients through the engagement process, and you can keep adding more and more information to client records to improve the quality of the information you have access to through it. The fee reconciliation, again, after understanding the set up process, is almost always seamless. Yes, it's a complex system, but... read more we operate complex businesses and iO appears to be offering a very robust and comprehensive back office to support this. Lots of good integrations (but as with most things, nothing is 100% just the way you want it), and they always seem to be working on more.
